# Telegram appeal templates

Two templates for the two addresses that actually get read. Send one, not both,
and send it once. Repeat mails from the same account push you down the queue.

Fill in every `[bracket]`. Keep it short: these are read by a person with a
queue, and a wall of text reads as a bot.

## 1. Limited account, no ban (recover@telegram.org)

Use when you can still log in but cannot message non-contacts.

> **Subject:** Limited account, business use, [+90 5XX XXX XX XX]
>
> Hello,
>
> My account [+90 5XX XXX XX XX] (@[username]) has been limited for messaging
> people who are not in my contacts.
>
> I use it for [one sentence: what your business does and why you message
> people, e.g. "customer support for our online store, where buyers write to us
> first"]. The messages that triggered this were [honest description: replies to
> inbound enquiries / follow-ups with existing customers].
>
> I understand the limit exists to stop spam. I have since [what changed:
> reduced daily volume to under 20, stopped messaging anyone who has not
> contacted us first, added an opt-out line to every message].
>
> Could you review the limit on this account?
>
> Thank you,
> [Name], [Company], [website]

## 2. Account banned (abuse@telegram.org)

Use when the account cannot log in at all.

> **Subject:** Ban appeal, [+90 5XX XXX XX XX], business account
>
> Hello,
>
> My account [+90 5XX XXX XX XX] (@[username]) was banned on [date].
>
> The account belongs to [Company], [website]. We used it for [one sentence].
> Roughly [N] people had ongoing conversations with us on it, and they now have
> no way to reach us.
>
> If the ban is the result of reports about outbound messages, I accept the
> cause. We have stopped that practice entirely and now [what changed].
>
> If the account can be restored I will keep it to [inbound replies only /
> under 20 messages a day].
>
> Thank you for looking,
> [Name], [role], [Company]

## What actually changes the outcome

- **One mail, one account.** Do not mail both addresses about the same account.
- **Name the practice you stopped.** "We no longer message anyone who has not
written to us first" carries far more weight than "we did nothing wrong".
- **No templates that read like templates.** Rewrite at least two sentences in
  your own words.
- **Expect 3 to 14 days.** No reply after 14 days usually means no.
- **Do not create a replacement account on the same device and SIM** while the
appeal is open. That pattern is itself a ban signal.

## While you wait

Move the conversations you can. Export the contacts you already have consent
from, and reach them on a channel you control: email, WhatsApp, or your own
live chat. Telegram is a channel, not your customer list.
